What forms of payment do you accept, and when do I pay?

I accept e-transfer from within Canada, and Paypal from anywhere.
For Ready-to-Ship collars, full payment is required to confirm your order (and because they’re first come first served, if you have not paid within 12 hours of contacting me, the collar will go up for sale again).

For custom orders that involve a name or some other personalization that makes it unlikely I could sell it elsewhere, I require 100% payment up front unless we have made other arrangements (e.g for experimental techniques).
For all other custom orders, I require 50% payment up front and the remainder when you approve the final photos I send you.

What if I want a refund?

Ready to ship collars can be returned in unused original condition (remember, I have lots of photos of these things from when I send them out..) at YOUR expense, for a 75% refund OR 100% credit towards another purchase.
Custom orders are NOT REFUNDABLE because, as I hope you will understand, it may be a long time or “never” before someone else comes along wanting to buy such a specific item. I will work with you as much as reasonable to address any issues you are dissatisfied with, but please be aware that a) I will make the item to the measurements you sent me; if those measurements turned out not to be suitable, that is not my error; and b) if the item was made as you agreed to but simply isn’t what you’d imagined, I am not a mind reader and that is not my error either, although I will certainly work with you as needed to change anything changeable.

How do you ship my order and what will it cost?

I generally ship Canada Post (for US orders, this will be transferred to USPS, who will deliver it to you) but can arrange UPS or another courier if requested.
I am currently charging a flat rate of $22 Canadian for shipping collars and/or leashes, both within Canada and to the US, for all orders up to 3 collars. Larger orders will be charged actual cost, as will shipments to other countries than these 2. Y’all, this is on average slightly LESS than what it actually costs me to ship things, so please do not ask for further discounts nor complain about the cost. Did you know it is actually cheaper sometimes to send a collar to California than to an address 2 hours away from me? It’s just the way it is.

I live in Ontario, or will be visiting, or have friends near you — can my order be picked up in person?

YES! Absolutely! You can pick up by prearranged appointment at my home in Uxbridge, ON, or you can find out what agility trials or other events (mostly in the greater Toronto area) I will be attending, and arrange for me to bring it to you there. This is free and will save you shipping costs ๐Ÿ™‚

What is your warranty policy?

All of my products have lifetime protection against manufacturing defects (for instance if stitching comes undone without any damage to the leather having occurred, or if a buckle breaks, etc)

Remember that leather changes as it breaks in and ages, dyed leather darkens, hardware tarnishes, crystals can crack or be lost when the collar is worn in the real world, and paint is never more than temporary…. those things are normal wear and tear in the “life cycle of a collar” or etc. I will absolutely work with you to repair or reverse any of those things as much as possible, at no charge for the work, provided you pay shipping to and from me (or figure out some other way to get me the collar).

Do you do repairs on items that I have from another maker/manufacturer?

You bet! Of course not everything is economically or aesthetically repairable, but a lot of things ARE, and I would be happy to talk with you about anything you might want repaired. You would be responsible for the cost of shipping both ways (unless you live locally of course) plus the actual cost of any materials e.g. a replacement leash snap, plus a flat repair fee of $10 plus $10/30 min for any time beyond the first half hour.
